Services Specialist - Commissioning

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Commission power controllers, frequency converters, load-commutated drives, excitation systems, electrical machines, and production systems.
• Commission medium- and low-voltage variable-speed drives with medium-voltage switchgear across power, metals, marine, oil and gas, and material-handling settings.
• Install systems and equipment, then perform preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, and corrective maintenance.
• Provide technical assistance to customers and field personnel for installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot equipment, respond to emergency service requests, and maintain accurate digital activity records.
• Follow EHS, integrity, compliance, quality, and safety procedures while delivering customer maintenance solutions.
• Support reliability improvement, fleet data collection, service reporting, spare-parts issues, and customer relationships.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor's or diploma degree in electrical engineering or an allied engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Process knowledge in metals, marine, oil and gas, test bench, material handling, or power plant environments.
• Knowledge of power electronics, high-voltage equipment, and PLCs.

Desired characteristics

• Experience with power converters, generators, switchboards, AVR, excitation systems, and medium- or low-voltage drives.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, under stress, and across matrixed international teams.
• Technical aptitude, business acumen, attention to detail, and international experience.

Work arrangement
