Position Summary
The Service Project Engineer supports product quality and bus fleet reliability through warranty services.
The role uses failure and warranty data to identify improvement areas and increase Mean Distance Between Failures.
The position sits within Charger & Electric Bus Support and involves collaboration with customers, suppliers, field staff, and internal teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Establish metrics to monitor failure trends and address potential product design risks.
- Review Field Service Action Request and Production SWAT outcomes to prevent recurring failures.
- Develop proactive management plans for potential fleet defects.
- Build customer partnerships and support contractual obligations.
- Coordinate access to fleet data and customer systems.
- Manage and report MDBF and Out-of-Service data.
- Understand contract specifications and business processes throughout the bus lifecycle.
- Investigate product issues and recommend solutions for field staff and customers.
- Plan and execute controlled component and installation testing.
- Develop service instructions for field staff and oversee repair timelines.
- Resolve internal and external customer calls and issues.
- Support technical manual revisions and recommend content enhancements.
