The Service Operations Assistant supports the daily operation of the front end and assists store leadership in providing excellent customer service, efficient checkout operations, and a positive experience for both customers and associates.
This role helps coordinate front-end activities, supports associate development, and ensures company procedures and service standards are consistently followed.
• Provide friendly, prompt, and professional customer service.
• Support the daily operation of the front end, including checkout lanes and customer service areas.
• Assist with coordinating cashier coverage, breaks, lunches, and other front-end staffing needs.
• Monitor customer traffic and help maintain efficient checkout service.
• Assist customers with questions, concerns, refunds, and other service-related needs.
• Help resolve customer concerns professionally and involve management when appropriate.
• Provide direction, coaching, and support to front-end associates.
• Assist with the training and development of new and existing associates.
• Reinforce customer service expectations and proper operating procedures.
• Support accurate cash-handling practices and ensure front-end procedures are followed.
• Assist with register functions, transactions, overrides, and other authorized activities.
• Help maintain front-end cleanliness, organization, safety, and presentation standards.
• Monitor supplies and equipment and communicate operational needs to store leadership.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
• Communicate customer concerns, staffing issues, associate performance matters, and operational opportunities to management.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, security procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Assist with additional store responsibilities as business needs require.
• Lead by example and consistently demonstrate excellent customer service.
• Provide clear direction and support to associates throughout the shift.
• Coach associates respectfully and recognize strong performance.
• Help maintain productivity and service standards during busy periods.
• Encourage teamwork and effective communication among associates.
• Support store leadership in maintaining an efficient, organized, and customer-focused operation.
• Demonstrate professionalism and sound judgment when handling customer or associate concerns.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to provide direction and coach associates effectively.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Dependable, professional, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to handle sensitive information and situations appropriately.
• Previous retail, customer service, cashier, or leadership experience is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform other physical activities associated with retail operations.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
