Role Overview
The Service Engineer handles service activities for the installation and operation of water and wastewater treatment machines and plants.
The role includes installation, commissioning, repair, reconditioning, inspections, and client service maintenance contracts.
The position interfaces with customers, sales, and technical support teams to resolve product performance and service issues.
Travel and Work Setting
- The role requires travel offshore and to moderate- to high-risk countries for plant installation and commissioning.
- Work is performed at client sites, on vessels, offshore locations, and in a production workshop when not visiting sites.
Maintenance and After-Sales Service
- Liaise with clients before visits to understand problems and complaints.
- Organize scheduled and call-out site visits, including tools, spares, consumables, and manpower.
- Ensure equipment functionality and diagnose faults in plants and equipment.
- Estimate repair times, complete repairs, and calibrate equipment as required.
- Conduct inspections and prepare reports with recommendations and parts lists.
- Coordinate with engineering teams on design changes and maintain customer relationships.
Installation and Commissioning
- Install, troubleshoot, and commission water treatment systems at local, vessel, offshore, and international sites.
- Plan installation activities and complete work within budget and planned time frames.
- Identify technical problems and determine corrective actions during installation and commissioning.
- Provide technical training to clients and ensure compliance with company and client HSE requirements.
- Identify business opportunities during site execution.
Workshop Duties
- Assist with manufacturing and assembly of RO units and component parts.
- Repair and recondition RO plants, units, and component parts.
- Provide training to technical workshop technicians.
General Duties
- Maintain customer service and product confidence through client liaison.
- Follow service schedules and maintain required workmanship and materials quality.
- Assist with local and overseas commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Complete documentation under the integrated management system.
- Recommend product and quality improvements.
Requirements
- Ability to travel offshore and to moderate- to high-risk countries for plant installation and commissioning.
- Ability to perform field service, installation, commissioning, inspection, repair, and reconditioning of water treatment equipment.
- Ability to comply with company and client HSE policies and documentation requirements.
- Ability to provide technical training to clients and workshop technicians.
