TEKEVER is looking for a Sensor Fusion & Integration Engineer to join our Sensing team. You'll integrate third-party sensors — including military-grade sensing payloads — into our platforms, build and tune the data/sensor fusion and geolocation plugins of our pipelines, meant to turn raw detections into reliable tracks, and ship production C++, Rust and ROS2 code that forms our core sensing autonomy, feeds mission relevant objects and facilitates building a coherent model of the world.
We're looking for someone with C++, Rust and ROS2 experience, a solid grasp of sensor fusion and tracking/localization (e.g. Kalman filtering, particle filters), and hands-on fluency working with AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as part of your daily workflow. This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance and is based on a hybrid basis, with three days per week at our Bristol office.

As such, we are significantly expanding our Sensing team, which is responsible for turning raw sensor data — from our own payloads as well as third-party and military-grade sensors — into fused, tracked, and actionable information for autonomous sensing and mission execution. We are seeking a skilled Sensor Fusion & Integration Engineer to join this team and take ownership of sensor integration, data fusion, and geolocation problems across our sensing pipeline.

· Integrate external sensors, including military-grade sensing payloads, by building adapters, drivers, and interfaces that bring their data into our sensing pipeline.
· Contribute to the sensor/data fusion pipeline that combines detections from multiple sensors into unified tracks and higher-level fused objects.
· Own and improve geolocation and tracking algorithms (e.g. Kalman-filter-based tracking), tuning and debugging them against real-world and synthetic datasets, including handling of noise and coordinate/reference-frame issues.
· Advance detections of objects based on raw sensor data (e.g. Radar, RF, EO/IR)
· Develop and maintain ROS2 wrappers and nodes to integrate sensors and fusion components into the wider system.
· Write, test, and maintain production-quality C++ and Rust for sensor integration and fusion components.
· Define and document interfaces (message/data contracts) between sensors, the fusion pipeline, and downstream consumers such as autonomous mission execution and mission planning.
· Validate new sensors and fusion capabilities through structured testing, using both synthetic datasets and real sensor data.
· Collaborate closely with the teams behind autonomous mission execution, mission planning, and hardware/payload integration to align sensing capabilities with operational needs.
· Maintain clear technical documentation of sensor integrations, fusion logic, and architectural decisions in Jira/Confluence.
· Use AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as part of your day-to-day engineering workflow to accelerate development, testing, and documentation.
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in robotics, sensing, or systems software engineering, with hands-on experience integrating sensors and/or building fusion or tracking systems.
Must-have technical skills:
· Strong proficiency in C++ and Rust for production, performance-sensitive software.
· Solid experience with ROS2, including building nodes and wrappers to integrate sensors and other components.
· Practical understanding of sensor/data fusion concepts and multi-sensor pipelines.
· Experience with tracking and localization problems, including techniques such as Kalman filtering, and debugging issues such as noise, drift, and coordinate/reference-frame errors.
· Experience integrating third-party or external sensors into a software system (adapters, drivers, or protocol translation layers).
· Hands-on fluency working with AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as part of a professional development workflow.
· Comfortable working with Linux-based development and deployment environments.
· English proficiency, written and spoken, in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
Nice-to-have skills:
· Exposure to defense, aerospace, or other safety-/security-critical environments.
· Experience with message/interface definition and versioning across distributed systems.
· Familiarity with radar, RF, EO/IR, or other sensing modalities — e.g. analyzing signal spectra to characterize or classify RF emissions.
· Experience with Docker and containerized deployment of sensor/fusion components.
· Experience with Python for tooling, testing, or data analysis.
Soft skills:
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable diagnosing subtle issues in noisy, real-world sensor data.
· Clear written and verbal communication, able to document interfaces and technical decisions for a multi-disciplinary audience.
