Senior Technical Program Manager

Product and Operating Judgment

• Frame customer, user, editorial, operational, or business problems before converging on solutions.
• Partner with Product and Design to define outcomes, success measures, experience principles, scope boundaries, and credible paths to learning or value.
• Pressure-test prioritization using customer impact, strategic fit, technical leverage, cost, risk, reversibility, and opportunity cost.
• Translate product strategy into delivery approaches covering discovery, design, engineering, readiness, launch, measurement, and follow-up.
• Improve planning, decision-making, portfolio visibility, adoption, feedback loops, and repeatable ways of working.

Executive Influence

• Present complex situations with clarity, including changes, implications, choices, recommendations, and required decisions.
• Escalate early with options and build alignment across leaders with different goals, incentives, terminology, and operating rhythms.
• Make sound independent decisions and identify when additional input or executive sponsorship is required.
• Remain effective under ambiguity, organizational change, incomplete information, and shifting priorities.
• Create an environment where teams raise risks, make decisions, and move quickly with transparency and ownership.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of direct experience leading complex technical programs with principal- or senior-level scope in a matrixed organization.
• Strong software engineering foundation or equivalent hands-on technical background, including practical coding assessment capability.
• Ability to understand architecture and implementation details and convert technical realities into effective program strategy.
• Strong product judgment involving problem framing, customer thinking, prioritization, metrics, experimentation, and trade-offs.
• Record of driving cross-functional outcomes across Product, Engineering, Design, and Operations through launch and adoption.
• Experience influencing Directors, VPs, and other senior leaders through clear reasoning, evidence, recommendations, and follow-through.
• Exceptional independence, ownership, context switching, organizational awareness, and written and verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a software engineer, engineering lead, architect, technical product manager, or similarly technical professional.
• Experience with consumer digital products, media or publishing systems, subscriptions, advertising, data platforms, AI-enabled products, or platform modernization.
• Experience changing both technology and the way teams plan, make decisions, or operate.
• Experience across time zones, business units, vendors, or shared-platform organizations.
• Comfort using development, analytics, planning, and collaboration tools to investigate work directly.

Performance Expectations

Candidate Assessment

• The process includes a practical coding assessment covering problem solving, code comprehension, implementation quality, debugging, automation, data handling, or API and system interaction.
• The process includes product thinking, technical program, leadership, influence, ambiguity, executive communication, conflict, and cross-functional action discussions.

Compensation

• Pay range is $103,700-$165,900 salary per year.
• Additional compensation may include bonuses, incentives, program-specific awards, and employee benefits.
