Senior Technical Business Analyst

Role Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Lead requirements-gathering sessions across business, technology, operations, and architecture stakeholders.
• Translate high-level business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Break requirements into epics, features, user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria.
• Document end-to-end data flows, source-to-target mappings, integrations, dependencies, and system impacts.
• Facilitate requirements reviews and solution walkthroughs and identify gaps, inconsistencies, edge cases, and unresolved requirements.
• Maintain traceability through development, testing, and production implementation.
• Support QA teams with aligned test cases and scenarios and clarify requirements for development and testing teams.

Data and Technical Documentation

• Document data lineage and flows, source and target systems, field mappings, data definitions, formats, transformations, calculations, business rules, and validations.
• Document API and interface specifications, file layouts, message structures, error handling, exceptions, dependencies, processing sequences, and timing requirements.
• Document batch and real-time processing flows, reconciliation requirements, non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios.
• Understand system integrations, APIs, interfaces, databases, files, messaging technologies, and complex enterprise applications.

Required Experience

• At least 7 years of Business Analysis experience, preferably in financial services, banking, or Capital Markets technology environments.
• Proven experience translating complex business requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Strong experience working directly with developers, architects, data engineers, and technical teams.
• Ability to independently investigate systems, processes, and data to uncover requirements and dependencies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.

Preferred Domain Experience

• Experience supporting Capital Markets technology initiatives and strong understanding of the complete trade lifecycle are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with front-office, middle-office, and back-office systems and related data flows is preferred.
• Experience with trading, operations, risk, finance, or regulatory technology teams is preferred.
• Knowledge of corporate lending and corporate loan processes is a significant advantage.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills are highly preferred.
