Role Overview

  • NAZZTEC is looking for a Senior Technical BCM / IT Disaster Recovery Consultant to support a strategic technical BCM and IT Disaster Recovery readiness engagement for an insurance client in Jeddah.
  • The consultant must be a hands on technical implementor, not only a documentation or GRC consultant.
  • The role requires deep practical understanding of technical BCM, IT Disaster Recovery, application resilience, infrastructure recovery, failover testing, technical runbooks, evidence collection, and audit ready reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review the client’s existing technical BCM and IT Disaster Recovery posture.
  • Assess existing DR architecture, recovery design, replication setup, backup strategy, failover approach, and previous DR testing evidence.
  • Map critical business services to supporting applications, databases, servers, infrastructure, storage, network, middleware, integrations, and third party dependencies.
  • Review application architecture and DR readiness, and prepare application recovery checklists.
  • Review server, operating system, virtualization, storage, backup, replication, monitoring, identity, DNS, and network recovery dependencies.
  • Review database recovery requirements, replication, backup schedules, restoration approach, database dependencies, and RPO/RTO alignment.
  • Review WAN, LAN, firewall, routing, VPN, DNS, load balancer, segmentation, ISP, and DR connectivity dependencies.
  • Review middleware, APIs, message queues, batch jobs, file transfers, authentication services, and third party integrations required for application recovery.
  • Validate business defined RTO and RPO targets against actual technical capability.
  • Develop or enhance technical recovery runbooks for critical systems and infrastructure components.
  • Prepare failover test plans, test scope, test scenarios, success criteria, communication plan, rollback plan, risk considerations, and approval requirements.
  • Support approved failover testing activities with Leading Insurance Client technical teams.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of overall IT / Infrastructure / Resilience / BCM / DR experience.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience in IT Disaster Recovery, technical BCM, infrastructure resilience, or application recovery projects.
  • Proven experience in DR readiness assessments, failover planning, failover testing, and recovery validation.
  • Strong experience working with Data Center / DR environments.
  • Strong understanding of RTO, RPO, MAO, recovery sequencing, dependency mapping, and technical recovery planning.
  • Experience preparing technical runbooks, DR test plans, recovery checklists, evidence packs, and management reports.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as insurance, banking, financial services, healthcare, government, or telecom.
  • Experience working with internal audit, regulatory evidence, or compliance driven technology resilience programs.
  • Prior Saudi Arabia / GCC experience is highly preferred.

  • Database backup and restore, Database replication, Database failover concepts, RPO/RTO impact on databases, Database validation after recovery.
  • Routing and switching concepts, Firewalls, VPN, DNS, Load balancers, WAN / DR connectivity, Network segmentation, Access path validation.
  • Middleware platforms, APIs, Batch jobs, Message queues, File transfers, Authentication dependencies, Integration recovery dependencies.
  • Business Continuity Management, IT Disaster Recovery Planning, Technical recovery runbooks, Failover testing, Failback planning, Crisis and incident coordination, Evidence based testing, Audit ready reporting.

Preferred Certifications

  • ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, ISO 22301 Lead Auditor, CBCP, CBCI, MBCI, DRII Certification, ITIL, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, PMP/PRINCE2.
  • Cloud / Infrastructure certifications (Microsoft Azure, AWS, VMware, Cisco, Oracle/SQL/Database) are an added advantage.

Engagement Details

  • Contract / Project Based engagement.
  • Project Duration: 6 Months.
  • Work Model: Full time onsite at client premises in Jeddah.
  • Client Industry: Insurance / Regulated Financial Services.
