About the Practice
RCH.qa Audit is a Doha-based audit, tax, and advisory practice serving local and international clients across Qatar.
The tax practice covers corporate income tax, withholding tax, tax disputes, and cross-border advisory, with growing demand across Qatar and the wider GCC.
The Role
The role is for a tax professional whose core experience is in taxation joining the tax services team.
The successful candidate will handle client tax compliance and advisory work end to end under engagement partner supervision, with direct client contact from the start.
Tax Compliance and Advisory
- Prepare and file corporate income tax returns and monthly withholding tax statements through the Dhareeba portal and manage related GTA correspondence.
- Handle tax registrations, contract notifications, tax cards, and tax-residence and treaty-relief documentation.
- Draft tax advisory memoranda on withholding tax, permanent establishment, double tax treaty application, and cross-border payments.
- Support objections, grievances, and appeals before the GTA and tax committees, including document review and submission preparation.
Reviews and Team Support
- Review financial statements and general ledgers for tax exposures and adjustments.
- Support transfer-pricing documentation and intercompany transaction reviews.
- Maintain client compliance calendars and ensure filing deadlines are met.
- Coach junior staff and review their work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or law.
- Three to six years of tax-focused experience in a professional services firm or tax authority.
- Working knowledge of Qatar Income Tax Law No. 24 of 2018, its Executive Regulations, and Dhareeba procedures.
- Ability to draft clear tax memoranda and client correspondence.
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Big Four or mid-tier firm is preferred.
- Exposure to GCC tax regimes, including KSA zakat, CIT, or VAT, is a plus.
- ACCA, CPA, ADIT, or CMA qualification in progress or completed is preferred.
- Experience with tax disputes or GTA assessments is preferred.
