Are you passionate about building innovative medical technologies that improve patient lives? We're looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to play a key role in the development of next-generation medical devices, from early concept through to commercial launch.
In this remote position, you'll work with global cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into safe, reliable, and high-performing medical products.
What You'll Do
Lead the development and management of system, user, and functional requirements.
Translate system requirements into hardware, software, firmware, and mechanical specifications.
Drive requirements traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
Support system architecture, integration, and technical decision-making.
Develop and execute system verification and validation activities.
Participate in risk management, hazard analysis, and DFMEA activities.
Investigate technical issues and support root cause analysis.
Collaborate closely with software, hardware, mechanical, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams.
Support design reviews, technical documentation, and regulatory submissions.
Ensure compliance with medical device standards and quality processes.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of systems engineering experience within the medical device industry.
- Experience across the full product development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of design controls and regulated product development.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Requirements development and traceability
- System integration and verification
- Risk management and DFMEA
- Root cause analysis and problem solving
- Verification and validation activities
- Experience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines.
Nice to Have
Experience with connected, wearable, or cloud-enabled medical devices.
Knowledge of neurodiagnostics, patient monitoring, or digital health products.
Experience with Jama, DOORS, Polarion, Jira, or similar tools.
Exposure to MBSE methodologies.
Experience supporting FDA, CE Mark, or MDR submissions.
Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
