Role Overview
Analyze business and operational requirements across ports and terminals and translate them into effective IT solutions.
Work with operations, business stakeholders, vendors, and internal IT teams to improve applications, introduce automation, and maintain reliable, scalable systems.
Support the solution lifecycle from requirements gathering through development, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and obtain approval for high-level designs and architectures.
- Coordinate technical specification documents and identify application modules, data flows, and interfaces.
- Ensure application designs follow IT standards for scalability, reliability, extensibility, performance, and security.
- Guide and mentor Systems Analysts in requirements specification and application design.
- Define database design and data retrieval procedures for efficient application performance.
- Review architecture for legacy application retirement and replacement development.
- Verify QA results, support project delivery, and coordinate vendors, testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is essential.
- At least six years of SDLC experience applied to software development projects is required.
- Experience with SQERT-based project analysis, project management tools, and resource management methodologies and tools is required.
- Software development experience involving coding computer programs is preferred.
- A master’s degree in Business Administration or Information Systems is desirable.
Technical and Professional Scope
- The role covers functional and technical analysis, solution design, impact assessment, application integration, application support, and root-cause analysis.
- Systems include Terminal Operating Systems, gate systems, equipment systems, automation platforms, and third-party applications.
- The role supports IT governance, cybersecurity, information security management, system monitoring, and operational efficiency improvements.
