Role Overview
AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer (Site) for its Abu Dhabi team.
The role oversees structural engineering operations on site through construction phases, with responsibility for quality, safety, and compliance.
The engineer serves as a technical authority and collaborates with architects, contractors, and project management teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct structural inspections and quality control assessments throughout construction phases.
- Analyze structural performance data and field conditions and provide technical recommendations.
- Prepare and review inspection reports, structural calculations, and compliance certifications.
- Supervise and coordinate structural work on site according to engineering specifications and safety protocols.
- Evaluate design modifications and their structural implications with design teams.
- Manage material testing and verification for structural components.
- Conduct site meetings and communicate technical findings to stakeholders and project teams.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance.
- Maintain records of inspections, test results, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of professional structural engineering experience, including at least 5 years in site-based roles.
- Expertise in structural analysis and design for concrete and steel structures.
- Advanced proficiency with STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent structural analysis software.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling software.
- Understanding of UAE building codes, international standards, and construction regulations.
- Experience in site inspection, quality control, and structural compliance verification.

- The position is site-based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
- Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
