The role
Founding Senior Structural Engineer appointment leading the UAE technical practice as Technical Manager and Engineer of Record.
The role holds technical authority for the office, owns Dubai Municipality relationships, and supports engineering team growth.
Responsibilities
- Act as Engineer of Record for structural design and supervision, including review, approval, and signing of deliverables.
- Own authority submissions, approvals, and correspondence with Dubai Municipality and other authorities.
- Lead structural design across residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects from concept through construction.
- Direct analysis, modelling, and detailing support teams and own the quality gate before issue.
- Establish technical standards covering design basis, checking, drawings, and specifications.
- Deliver value engineering and independent peer review assignments.
- Represent the practice with developers, architects, contractors, and authorities.
- Identify, assess, and onboard engineers as the team grows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of engineering consultancy experience, including substantial UAE experience.
- Valid Society of Engineers UAE membership and Dubai Municipality engineer accreditation at G+12 minimum.
- UAE residency with a valid Emirates ID.
- Strong command of UAE codes and the Dubai Municipality approval process.
- Experience with reinforced concrete, structural steel, lateral systems, transfer structures, and deep or piled foundations.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and BIM software.
- Wind and seismic design experience to applicable standards.
- Value engineering or peer review experience is required.
- Fluent English is required; Arabic is advantageous.
Preferred
- High-rise experience is preferred.
- Site supervision and construction-stage engineering experience are preferred.
- Experience establishing or growing a technical team is preferred.
