Role Overview
SOM is seeking a Structural Engineering Design Leader for its London Studio.
The role will provide a senior design voice and shape structurally led projects from concept through completion.
The position will integrate strategic structural solutions into ambitious, architecturally led engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Champion the design process from early concept through late-stage delivery.
- Ensure constructability, performance, and exceptional quality.
- Lead structural engineering design, analysis, and coordination.
- Resolve complex structural challenges with creativity and clarity.
- Mentor emerging structural engineering talent.
- Communicate design narratives to peers, architects, clients, and collaborators.
- Promote thought leadership and mentorship within the London Structural team and wider firm engineering community.
