Senior Staff Software Engineer, Front End (Customer Experience)

Education/Certifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field

12+ years of frontend engineering experience, with senior staff-level or equivalent technical scope and demonstrated org-wide influence.

Deep expertise in modern frontend technologies including WebGL, GSAP, Framer, and Astro, with a focus on building performant, maintainable systems.

Deep expertise in React and TypeScript, including advanced patterns, performance optimization, and large-scale application architecture.

Proven experience owning and evolving component libraries or design systems at scale.

Strong instincts for UX and interaction design, thinking about the customer experience and not just the implementation.

Mastery of frontend performance: Core Web Vitals, rendering strategies (SSR, SSG, CSR), code splitting, and bundle optimization.

Deep understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and practical experience building inclusive experiences.

Track record of leading frontend technical strategy across teams, authoring RFCs, driving architecture reviews, and influencing peers and leadership.

Experience working closely with design and translating design intent into technically sound, maintainable implementations.

Excellent communicator, able to make frontend tradeoffs legible to product, design, and non-frontend engineering stakeholders.

Preferred

Experience building AI/ML platform foundations or developer AI tooling.

Experience in automotive, mobility, retail, ecommerce, or digital consumer products.

Experience building multi-tenant platforms and shared enterprise services.

Experience with Full-stack engineering experience - micro frontend architecture and mobile platform foundations (iOS, Android, React Native).

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $190,000.00 - $230,000.00

Initial California base salary range= $209,000 - $253,000
