Senior Sql Database Administrator

Experience and Background

• At least 8 years of business-critical production database administration experience with recent senior DBA experience.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft SQL Server experience across installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backups, recovery, security, and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting high-volume OLTP systems and large datasets in demanding 24x7 environments.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL Server high-availability and disaster-recovery options, including tested restores.
• Experience collaborating with software engineering, platform, and information security teams across distributed teams.

Technical and Methodological Strengths

• Expert T-SQL skills covering execution plans, indexing, statistics, locking, isolation levels, and query optimization.
• Experience with database observability, baselining, and troubleshooting using native or third-party monitoring tools.
• Ability to automate operational tasks with scripting, source control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on database management experience in Azure or AWS, including resilient architecture, monitoring, and cost control.
• Experience with SingleStore or another distributed SQL platform is useful, along with the aptitude to learn it quickly.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, partitioning, lifecycle management, and OLTP versus analytical workloads.
• Strong knowledge of secure database operation, privacy, auditing, and regulated-environment change management.
