Role Overview

Airbyte’s Platform team builds infrastructure, internal tooling, developer platforms, and product surfaces for Airbyte Cloud, Airbyte Flex, and Airbyte Agents.

The Senior Fullstack Engineer will build internal tools and user-facing features across the full stack.

The role supports engineering productivity, safe deployment, observability, reliable operations, and scalable product experiences.

Platform Products

Design and build applications that power Airbyte’s engineering platform and product surfaces.
Develop dashboards for deployments, infrastructure health, connector operations, and platform performance.
Build user-facing features in Airbyte Cloud and Flex with product and design partners.
Create self-service tools for infrastructure provisioning, service management, and production troubleshooting.

Fullstack Development

Build modern React and TypeScript applications backed by scalable backend services.
Design APIs and services for internal engineering workflows and customer-facing product features.
Collaborate with platform engineers, SREs, product engineers, product managers, and designers.
Improve usability and reliability for internal and external users.

Developer Experience and Operations

Automate repetitive engineering work and improve release workflows, deployment visibility, and operational dashboards.
Contribute to performance, accessibility, reliability, and maintainability of user-facing product surfaces.
Build interfaces for observability, incident response, system health, deployment status, and service reliability.
Reduce operational toil through automation, metrics, reporting, and reusable platform components.

Technical Leadership

Mentor engineers through design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical leadership.
Raise standards for frontend architecture, testing, accessibility, and maintainability.
Help shape Airbyte’s platform and product engineering direction.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience building production fullstack applications.
Deep expertise with React and TypeScript.
Strong backend engineering experience building APIs and distributed systems.
Experience shipping user-facing SaaS products alongside internal tools, developer platforms, or operational dashboards.
Experience working with product managers and designers to ship customer-facing features.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and modern deployment workflows.
Strong product instincts, customer empathy, communication skills, and a bias toward ownership, automation, and shipping.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, or cloud infrastructure.
Experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, or developer productivity tooling.
Familiarity with Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, or other observability platforms.
Experience with Java or Kotlin, distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, internal engineering tools, developer platforms, data infrastructure, or large-scale SaaS platforms.

Location

The role is onsite four days per week in San Francisco, California.

Compensation

The listed salary range is $196K–$235K with equity offers; no compensation cadence is specified.
