What the Role Does

• Design, implement, test, evaluate, deploy and monitor AI/ML products, pipelines and services.
• Build reliable, maintainable and scalable AI/ML systems using audience segmentation, large language models and multimodal vision-language models.
• Apply engineering practices including test automation, CI/CD, refactoring, observability, Docker and infrastructure as code.
• Develop and maintain real-time and batch data engineering pipelines using Airflow, SQL, BigQuery and Kafka.
• Establish automated evaluation and monitoring for AI product performance, drift detection and quality.
• Implement and optimise production models for ranking, relevance and retrieval using embeddings, transformers and LLMs.
• Own model versioning, deployment and reproducible experimentation through lifecycle management and CI/CD.
• Contribute to ML platform capabilities that accelerate delivery across teams.

Experience and Skills

• Commercial production experience in machine learning, ML engineering, MLOps, software engineering and LLMs.
• Knowledge across machine learning training, evaluation, inference and observability using structured and unstructured data.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL or other relevant machine learning technologies.
• Ability to choose appropriate machine learning approaches and tools for commercial applications.
• Ability to design and create high-quality, maintainable software.
• Ability to lead the design, scoping and delivery of feature slices independently and collaboratively.
• Clear written and verbal communication and effective collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Motivation to learn, mentor others and improve ways of working.
• Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
