Role Overview
Join the Linux Kernel team responsible for developing and maintaining the Linux kernel in EOS.
The role covers upstream integration, new kernel features, CPU subsystem work, hardware qualification, debugging, and performance improvements.
Own projects from definition through deployment and customer interaction while maintaining delivery quality.
Responsibilities
- Track upstream Linux kernel developments and identify relevant functionality.
- Develop EOS kernel features and tests in C, C++, and Python and build automated test infrastructure.
- Qualify CPUs and NICs with hardware engineers and vendors and integrate new kernel versions into EOS.
- Contribute features to the upstream Linux community and provide technical leadership across projects.
- Analyze customer and system test problems, provide fixes, and mentor new and junior engineers.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering plus 8 years of experience; MS plus 6 years; PhD plus 3 years; or equivalent experience.
- Expert C programming experience and significant hands-on Linux kernel troubleshooting, bug fixing, and feature development.
