Role overview

Serve as a leading technical contributor for Charles River IMS modules or components within an Agile Scrum team.

Provide engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support and other development teams.

Work on front-office order and execution management systems and related enterprise technology.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop enterprise and cloud-native applications for front-office order and execution management systems.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and product managers on sustainable solutions for complex problems.
  • Provide technical thought leadership for product architecture and direct problem solving for high-concurrency applications.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and implement software using Java, C#, React, SQL, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  • Write unit and automation tests, conduct manual tests, and improve development test methodologies.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting for mission-critical client implementations.
  • Participate in and drive Scrum rituals, coordinate cross-team activities, and mentor engineers.

Required experience

  • At least 12 years of progressively responsible software engineering experience, including at least 5 years at Senior Engineer level.
  • At least 8 years of experience developing highly performant Java applications.
  • At least 5 years designing and developing transactional, concurrent, event-driven systems.
  • At least 5 years of cloud-native application development with Spring Boot microservices, Kafka, Kubernetes, Redis, and cloud databases.
  • At least 5 years working with Agile development methodology.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming, databases, observability, telemetry, and advanced software technologies.

Preferred experience

  • Financial services technology experience is strongly desired.
  • UI development experience with .NET, C#, React, or JavaScript is strongly desired.
  • Azure, Oracle, Exadata, Cosmos, MongoDB, or Snowflake experience is preferred or desired where stated.
