Senior Software Engineer in Test

Role Overview

Functional and Manual Testing

• Perform manual and functional testing.
• Review requirements and create, execute, and document test cases.
• Plan, design, and document test suites and test data.
• Implement, execute, support, and deliver accurate test results.
• Manage QA environments, including deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical support to other project team members.

API Testing and Validation

• Perform API sanity checks and validations using Postman or equivalent tools.
• Work with XML, JSON, and GraphQL endpoints to verify data flow and integration.
• Adapt to internally developed API testing tools.

Coordination and Collaboration

• Work with product management and development teams to align products with business specifications and requirements.
• Collaborate with global project teams.
• Review release artifacts and coordinate deployments with development and application management teams.

Non-Functional Testing

• Assist with test case writing and execution for automation suites.
• Use tools and technologies such as Java, Selenium, and Cypress for automated testing.
• Execute security, performance, and other non-functional testing as project requirements dictate.

Mentorship and Team Leadership

• Mentor and lead QA engineers across functional and non-functional testing.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for QA matters and platform troubleshooting.
• Provide occasional out-of-hours support and improve testing operations proactively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 8 to 11 years of functional and non-functional testing experience is required.
• Hands-on scripting or coding experience in a programming language is required.
• Experience with defect tracking systems and relational databases is required.
• Experience with web application testing, JIRA, MS SQL Server, or Linux is preferred.
