The position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line.
The role provides input to project plans, schedules, and methodologies for cross-functional software products.
The engineer performs design across multiple systems, mentors junior team members, and translates user and customer requests into solutions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for external technology resources.
- Provide product-level design input and work directly with customers and end users.
- Serve as the go-to person for coding and technical issues.
- Interface with technical personnel and team members to finalize requirements.
- Write and review specifications for system components of moderate complexity.
- Complete complex bug fixes.
- Mentor software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques.
Experience and Education
- At least 9 years of software engineering experience.
- BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.
Technical Requirements
- Java software engineering and development, Apache Camel, Spring Boot, and AWS cloud technologies are required.
- AWS experience includes ECS, S3, SQS, Step Functions, Lambda, CloudFormation, and AWS database creation and upgrades.
- React front-end development, security vulnerability remediation, test-driven development, and software development methodologies are required.
- Payment processor knowledge and payment web service development and integration experience are required.
- The role requires knowledge of architectural principles, data manipulation language, and optimization techniques.
Professional Capabilities
- Strong organization, project planning, time management, change management, delegation, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and customer service skills are required.
- The role requires advanced problem-solving experience involving complex project issues, risk assessment, alternative solutions, and schedule adjustments.
- Experience with managed services or staff augmentation resource models and external resource development best practices is required.
