Senior Software Engineer II

Requirements

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
• Strong proficiency in Java / J2EE , with hands-on experience in Spring Framework / Spring Boot and/or Micronaut .
• Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs ; familiarity with clean/hexagonal architecture and SOLID principles.
• Proficiency in frontend development with JavaScript / TypeScript and a modern framework ( Angular preferred); solid understanding of web markup including HTML5, CSS3 , and JSP.
• Proficient with relational databases ( Oracle and/or PostgreSQL ) and proven ability to write SQL queries; exposure to NoSQL ( DynamoDB ) a plus.
• Understanding of data modelling principles and ability to work with complex data models.
• Hands-on experience with a cloud platform ( AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code ( Terraform ).
• Experience with containerization ( Docker ) and web servers / reverse proxies ( Apache, NGINX ); comfortable working in Linux/UNIX environments.
• Familiarity with authentication & authorization protocols — OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, MFA, and identity federation .
• Strong understanding of web application security principles and best practices ( OWASP ).
• Strong knowledge of Git and code repository best practices.
• Good understanding of today's web application technologies, web infrastructure (software and hardware), and the DevOps process.
• Experience with build tooling ( Gradle and/or Maven) and package management ( npm ).
• Familiarity with industry best practices — test-driven development and code coverage (Jacoco, SonarQube).
• Knowledge of messaging / event-driven systems ( SQS, Kinesis, EventBridge, Step Functions ) a plus.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Ability to complete moderately complex bug fixes.
• Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.
• Good oral and written English communication skills.
• U.S. National Base Pay Range: $95,300 - $158,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
