Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, YouTube Creator Studio

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of projects critical to the YouTube Studio roadmap. Write and test product or system development code for complex, multi-faceted client-side components and frameworks.
• Lead by example by implementing a significant portion of the team's designs, modeling high standards for code factored for testability, readability, and resilience.
• Conduct deep technical code reviews, providing feedback that ensures best practices in style, accuracy, and efficiency across the Studio codebase.
• Model and enforce high technical standards for scalability, maintainability, and testing coverage.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for cross-functional partners (Product, UX, TPM) to translate requirements into robust technical workplans.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. - 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages. - 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent. - 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products. - 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred qualifications: - Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field. - 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. - 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. - Experience developing accessible technologies.
