Build production-grade backend services and web applications that support personalized consumer experiences across digital channels.
Work with technical leads, AI/ML engineers, product owners, and data engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, low-latency services.
Responsibilities
- Develop production-grade APIs and service layers for personalization and recommendations.
- Build and evolve web-based applications and user experiences.
- Build model-serving and inference integration layers for real-time and batch recommendations.
- Implement resilient, observable, scalable, and low-latency services.
- Use caching, event-driven processing, and distributed systems patterns for high-volume consumer use cases.
- Collaborate with technical and product teams to deliver roadmap commitments.
- Drive technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Ensure production readiness through monitoring, performance optimization, reliability engineering, and operational readiness.
- Mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews, and establish engineering best practices.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience building scalable, resilient microservices and web applications in modern cloud environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for production backend services.
- Strong understanding of system design and distributed architecture.
- Understanding of concurrency, asynchronous processing, idempotency, exception handling, and circuit breakers.
- Strong data structures and algorithms foundation with practical experience.
- Experience with event-driven architecture using Kafka or similar technologies.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases and distributed data management.
- Ability to mentor engineers, review designs, and drive sound technical decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Frontend development experience with React is strongly preferred.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs into production applications is advantageous.
- Understanding of embedding-based similarity search and vector databases is advantageous.
- Experience in eCommerce, retail, or consumer digital products is preferred.
