Role overview
Unloan is a startup within Commonwealth Bank creating AI-powered lending experiences at scale.
The Senior Software Engineer will join the Customer Acquisition Squad and build customer-facing experiences for the home lending journey.
The role offers end-to-end ownership from implementation and testing through deployment and production support.
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and build customer-facing lending experiences.
- Own software solutions through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Use AI orchestrators, harnesses, models, and agentic workflows to improve delivery and quality.
- Work collaboratively in a micro-squad with autonomy over meaningful customer problems.
Requirements
- Strong TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js development experience.
- Ability to design, build, and consume GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Solid PostgreSQL experience in modelling, migrations, and optimisation.
- Understanding of scalable system design, distributed services, and integrations.
- Ability to write clean, secure, well-tested, and maintainable production code.
- Ability to direct, review, and refine AI-generated code and apply sound engineering judgement.
