Speechify provides tools for listening to articles, documents, books, and other information across devices.
The Core Experiences Team builds and maintains foundational services and SDKs that power the product across platforms.
The role is suited to an engineer who works at the intersection of product and infrastructure and values reliable APIs and simple systems.
What you will do
- Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration and UX trade-offs, and deliver solutions through a cross-platform SDK.
- Optimize existing functionality by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms for faster loading and more intelligent parsing.
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
Ideal candidate
- Demonstrate systems thinking and understand that system optimization requires end-to-end design.
- Work quickly to generate options and make pragmatic decisions about what to ship now.
- Stay focused while knowing when to engage in a busy, remote team.
- Collaborate effectively with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers.
