About the Role

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain system level components for FileCloud Desktop on Windows in modern C++
- Work with Win32/WinRT, Windows Cloud Files API (CFAPI), and custom driver to handle filesystem events
- Implement and maintain gRPC services and clients connecting system components to higher level layers
- Develop and maintain unit tests (gtest) and integration tests (Python + pytest)
- Integrate with File Explorer for overlays, context menus, and shell extensions
- Use tools like Visual Studio, WinDbg, and Procmon to debug complex issues
- Contribute to build and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, WiX, vcpkg, PowerShell)
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with modern C++ (C++17 and higher)
- Solid knowledge of Windows internals: processes, threading, synchronization, I/O, memory, security
- Hands on experience with Win32 APIs and willingness to work with WinRT
- Experience with multithreaded and asynchronous code
- Good understanding of filesystem behavior
- Experience with RPC/typed APIs (e.g., gRPC, JSON/REST)
- Hands on experience writing automated tests (gtest, pytest)
- Strong debugging skills on Windows using Visual Studio, WinDbg, Procmon
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex subsystems
- Good communication skills in English

About the Role
- FileCloud is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Client Applications to join the team in Riyadh, KSA. The role focuses on core sync and OS integration layer of FileCloud Desktop, primarily Windows development using modern C++.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain system level components for FileCloud Desktop on Windows in modern C++ (C++17+)
- Work with Win32/WinRT, Windows Cloud Files API (CFAPI), and custom driver to handle filesystem events, placeholders, hydration/dehydration
- Implement and maintain gRPC services and clients connecting system components to higher level layers (Electron/TypeScript UI, server side)
- If macOS experience, contribute to macOS system components in Swift using Apple File Provider and Endpoint Security
- Develop and maintain unit tests (gtest) and integration tests (Python + pytest)
- Integrate with File Explorer for overlays, context menus, and shell extensions
- Use tools like Visual Studio, WinDbg, and Procmon to debug complex issues
- Contribute to build and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, WiX, vcpkg, PowerShell)
Key Skills & Experience

- Hands on experience writing automated tests: unit tests in gtest and integration tests in Python + pytest
- Strong debugging skills on Windows using Visual Studio, WinDbg, Procmon
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex subsystems
- Comfortable using AI coding assistants
Nice to have
- Experience with Windows Cloud Files API (CFAPI) or other virtual filesystem/sync APIs
- Experience building installers with WiX Toolset
- Familiarity with vcpkg for C++ dependency management
- Experience with COM APIs for shell integration
- Familiarity with large language model APIs or machine learning concepts
- macOS system development in Swift using Apple File Provider and Endpoint Security
- Experience with Jenkins or similar CI systems
- Scripting skills in PowerShell
- Background in cloud storage, sync clients, security/endpoint products, or distributed systems
- Awareness of security best practices at OS and filesystem layer
