Role Overview
Mal is building an AI-powered, Sharia-compliant neobank focused on inclusive financial services for Muslims worldwide.
The Senior Software Engineer will own end-to-end problem solving within a business domain such as Growth, Payments, Cards, Accounts, or Customers.
The role seeks engineering leaders with deep banking experience who can work across products, stacks, and technical layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end solution design and delivery for a core business domain.
- Collaborate with product, compliance, and design stakeholders on scalable technical solutions.
- Set standards for code quality, security, and maintainability across the software development lifecycle.
- Mentor and guide engineers within the assigned domain.
- Drive robust, compliant architectural decisions aligned with Islamic financial principles.
- Resolve complex technical and business challenges and work closely with multiple stakeholders.
- Spend most engineering time on backend development as the organization adopts backend-driven development.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Complex software delivery experience in banking or fintech domains.
