Role Overview
Software Engineers design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate new or modified software products.
The role covers the application lifecycle from research and design through implementation, training, and support.
Senior Software Engineers handle complex work, support difficult or time-sensitive projects, and mentor software development engineers.
The role works with leadership to understand requirements and project timelines and promotes software standards and sound technical decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate requirements and proposed solutions to determine operational feasibility.
- Develop enterprise-level software with developers, analysts, project managers, QA, and other stakeholders.
- Mentor software engineers on design principles and engineering practices.
- Ensure solutions are reviewed, documented, and unit tested before handoff to QA.
- Prepare and install solutions by defining system specifications, standards, and programming.
- Create documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear testable code.
- Conduct systems analysis and recommend changes to improve operations.
- Communicate professionally with coworkers and external customers.
