The role is based at the National Support Office in Burnley, Victoria.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable AI and data solutions used across multiple business areas.
- Set and uplift engineering standards, patterns, and guardrails for safe, high-quality delivery.
- Explore emerging AI tools and frameworks and turn experiments into reusable solutions.
- Translate business needs into well-designed technical outcomes with product owners and stakeholders.
- Mentor and support engineers through code reviews, pairing, and collaboration.
- Improve performance, reliability, and cost across platforms and pipelines.
Required experience
- Strong software engineering experience delivering AI-enabled solutions into production.
- Hands-on skills with Python, C#, Scala, or another modern programming language.
- Practical experience with machine learning and generative AI frameworks.
- Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Confidence working in Agile teams and influencing technical direction through collaboration.
- Ability to work through ambiguity, solve complex problems, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
