Role Overview
The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test designs robust testing strategies and automation for complex, cross-team product features.
The role owns the end-to-end automation roadmap for one or more modules and defines goals, execution plans, and success metrics.
The position is highly technical and hands-on, requiring deep automation experience and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end automation frameworks and testing strategies.
- Own module automation roadmaps and define strategic goals, execution plans, and success metrics.
- Identify risks and testability gaps while improving quality and efficiency.
- Build functional, performance, and security automation tools integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and QA teams to support comprehensive coverage and reliable releases.
- Mentor SDETs and engineers and promote automation, observability, and test design best practices.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in SDET contributions and tooling.
- Advanced proficiency in testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and debugging techniques.
- Experience maintaining test infrastructure across multiple platforms and services.
- Strong command of algorithms, data structures, databases, and scripting languages such as SQL, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, performance tools, and monitoring systems.
- Deep understanding of API and backend testing.
- Hands-on experience setting up performance, load, and stress test infrastructure.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with AWS and systems such as Kafka or Kinesis is preferred.
- Experience with cloud-native QA automation architecture and tool implementation is preferred.
- Working knowledge of event-driven systems and distributed test environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools for production debugging is preferred.
