The Senior SDET owns test architecture and the quality bar for systems shipped by the team.
The role involves hands-on, AI-adept engineering across design, development, review, testing, and production.
The position is based in Bangalore, India, and is 100% on-site.
AI-Powered QA
- Design and execute test strategies for AI-powered features, checking model accuracy, hallucinations, and prompt-injection vulnerabilities.
- Evaluate AI and LLM integrations through prompt evaluation, data pipeline verification, and analysis of failure modes.
- Use AI-augmented techniques such as self-healing locators and AI-driven visual testing.
Framework and Architecture
- Design and build reusable, maintainable UI and backend test automation frameworks for REST and GraphQL surfaces.
- Make decisions about framework structure, tooling, and where complexity should reside.
CI/CD, Performance, and Reliability
- Architect scalable, parallelized CI/CD pipelines that reduce test execution time and infrastructure cost.
- Define and run load, stress, and performance testing for high-throughput microservices.
- Use Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk to diagnose failures and correlate them with system health.
Mentoring and Quality Culture
- Mentor QA and development engineers on testability, clean test code, and shift-left practices.
- Lead proofs of concept and cross-functional quality initiatives.
- Track and report quality metrics and identify regression trends before production.
Skills
- Use AI coding assistants and AI-specific testing methods, including prompt evaluation, hallucination checks, prompt-injection checks, data pipeline verification, self-healing locators, and AI-driven visual testing.
- Strong practical skills in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript, with deep experience in Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Experience with Postman, TestNG, or RestAssured for API testing is listed alongside UI automation skills.
- Understand microservices, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, and large-scale distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker, cloud test infrastructure, and observability tooling.
- Experience with performance testing strategies for high-throughput services.
- Comfort working in Agile teams, tracking quality metrics, and mentoring others.
Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an SDET, with strong Java and JavaScript/TypeScript coding skills and experience architecting test automation frameworks.
- Experience configuring automated tests within CI/CD pipelines, with practical cloud and Docker/Kubernetes knowledge.
- Comfort using AI coding assistants daily and familiarity with testing AI/LLM-powered features.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
