Essential criteria
Strong professional experience of developing with C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core MVC and Web API development.
Experience of designing and building REST APIs, microservices and event-driven solutions.
Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, including design patterns, SOLID principles and clean architecture.
Experience with Docker and containerisation, as well as automated testing using xUnit or similar frameworks.
Experience working with SQL Server and data access technologies.
Good knowledge of CI/CD and Git-based development.
Experience of designing event-driven solutions using Azure Service Bus, Apache Kafka or equivalent messaging technologies.
Experience implementing secure APIs using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT and Microsoft Entra ID.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor or similar, while maintaining engineering quality.
An interest in mentoring other developers and sharing technical knowledge across the team.

For this role we expect that you will work from our head office in Embassy Gardens, London a minimum of 2 days per week (Tuesday & Thursday) with additional days for team meetings, townhalls etc as required. There may also be occasional travel to our warehouse site in Frating, Colchester.
