Role Overview
The TEAR Team Billing POD owns systems that convert Confluent Cloud usage into billing through metering, aggregation, pricing, invoicing, and payment or ERP integrations.
The role is full-stack but frontend-leaning, with most work focused on billing, usage, and invoicing experiences.
Billing systems require correctness, auditability, reliability, and scale because they affect revenue and customer trust.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Build and operate Billing-domain features with a primary focus on React, Redux, and TypeScript.
- Contribute to backend services supporting metering, rating, invoicing, and usage aggregation.
- Deliver features end to end from design through rollout and on-call ownership.
- Develop reliable systems with data correctness, idempotency, and reconciliation across high-volume usage data.
- Contribute to one-pagers, design reviews, KIPs, and thorough pull request reviews.
- Strengthen testing, monitoring, runbooks, and shared ownership of production systems.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience with frontend depth and full-stack comfort.
