Role Overview
The GNOC team centrally manages OCI networks and implements automated solutions for operational challenges.
The role supports service availability, performance, customer service, and engineering and operations teams.
Network Operations
- Handle incident tickets, provide break-fix support, and escalate event remediation.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and coordinate with support teams and vendors.
- Develop and safely complete network changes using existing procedures and tooling.
- Mentor junior engineers as needed.
- Participate in rotational operations and provide on-call support.
- Troubleshoot network issues with onsite support teams and vendors.
- Identify actionable incidents through monitoring systems and coordinate fault resolution.
- Join major incident calls and provide RCA documentation.
Automation and Projects
- Collaborate with networking automation services to integrate support tooling.
- Develop scripts to automate routine tasks.
- Use automation to complete operational work.
- Act in a project lead role when needed.
