Role Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced Site Senior Mechanical Engineer and Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of major construction and infrastructure projects within Saudi Arabia.
  • This is a site based position responsible for overseeing and monitoring all Mechanical Engineering activities, ensuring construction works are executed in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, quality requirements, industry standards, and contractual obligations.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing technical oversight and assurance throughout the construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and supervise contractor activities within the Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering discipline to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and surveillance activities to verify workmanship quality and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Review contractor work methods, procedures, and site generated documentation.
  • Evaluate contractor proposals relating to schedules, resources, and construction methodologies.
  • Ensure all mechanical installations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
  • Review and assess mechanical design information, shop drawings, technical calculations, and construction documentation or Electrical if that's your discipline.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems, materials, and equipment comply with project specifications and approved technical standards. Or Electrical if that's your discipline.
  • Review, comment on, approve, or reject contractor material submittals and technical submissions.
  • Monitor the implementation of approved changes and ensure accurate as built documentation is maintained.
  • Oversee and verify testing, commissioning, and performance validation activities for mechanical systems or Electrical.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure successful integrated commissioning.
  • Review operation and maintenance manuals and handover documentation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent recognised qualification. Or a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer, or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
  • Membership of a recognised engineering institution or professional body desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years' Mechanical Engineering experience or 10 years Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Proven site based experience on major construction, infrastructure, industrial, facilities, aviation, defence, or utilities projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities. or similar from an electrical bias.
  • Experience reviewing designs, shop drawings, technical submittals, and contractor documentation.
  • Sound knowledge of international engineering standards, quality systems, and construction best practices.
  • Experience working within Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is advantageous.
