Job Overview

SYSTRA's Mobility & Railway Business Unit is anticipating future growth with new metro projects.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Signaling Engineer (Systems) to join our project teams and contribute to our mobility solutions.

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and technical management of the Design-Build Contractor's CBTC signaling team to ensure successful delivery of the signaling system in accordance with project requirements, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Lead and develop the rail signaling team while promoting a culture of safety, continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Coordinate with the client, regulatory authorities, Design-Build Contractor, and other stakeholders to manage signaling-related matters and project interfaces.
  • Participate in design review meetings and ensure compliance with signaling system specifications, requirements, and project objectives.
  • Conduct technical reviews of signaling systems, including Automatic Train Protection (ATP), Automatic Train Operation (ATO), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), and Automatic Train Regulation (ATR).
  • Manage signaling interfaces and system integration activities with other railway disciplines and systems, including platform screen doors.
  • Monitor and review signaling system design, implementation, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Support the resolution of technical, operational, and logistical issues related to signaling systems and interfaces.
  • Review design submissions and provide recommendations to address critical design and integration challenges.
  • Prepare technical reports, analyses, evaluations, and recommendations related to signaling design and project delivery.
  • Monitor and report progress against project schedules, budgets, specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Support the Programme Director in managing change, variations, risks, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Requirements

  • Experience in leading and managing signaling systems for metro projects.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a rail signaling team.
  • Strong coordination skills with clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in design review meetings and compliance with signaling system specifications.
  • Technical expertise in signaling systems including ATP, ATO, ATS, and ATR.
  • Ability to manage signaling interfaces and system integration activities.
  • Experience in monitoring and reviewing signaling system design, implementation, and commissioning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for technical, operational, and logistical issues.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Experience in monitoring and reporting progress against project schedules, budgets, and performance requirements.
  • Ability to support the Programme Director in managing change, variations, risks, and opportunities.
  • Promotion of value engineering initiatives and identification of potential claims, counterclaims, and specification deviations.
