Job Description

About The Field Development Team

  • The Field Development team translates the Majnoon Field Development Plan into an executable plan.
  • The team defines and matures capital projects to the Front End Engineering Design stage (FEED).
  • The integrated field development team includes petroleum architect, conceptual engineers, discipline engineers, well engineers, reservoir engineers and project services specialists.

Role Purpose

  • The Senior Reservoir Engineer is a key contributor in developing and updating the FDP execution plan document.
  • The role requires full field reservoirs modeling and articulating development strategies for hydrocarbons and non hydrocarbons streams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reservoir Modeling: Perform fit for purpose and detailed dynamic flow simulations.
  • Perform reservoirs, wells and field performance analyses, history matching and long term production forecasting.
  • Actively participate in WRFM field reviews.
  • Create type curves and run projects and full field scenarios in PetroVR.
  • Run sector and full field models in Petrel RE/Eclipse/Intersect.
  • Perform Integrated Production Systems modeling (PROSPER, GAP).
  • Establish PVT register and fluid specifications.
  • Work closely with development team ensuring technical integration.
  • Technical Leadership & Governance: Obtain technical assurance sign off.
  • Provide technical assurance on reservoir engineering work.
  • Establish best practices, workflows, and standards.
  • Guide wells, process and discipline engineers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering (mandatory). PhD preferred.
  • Experience: Typically 15+ years in reservoir or petroleum engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years in integrated FDP studies and project maturation in the front end.
  • Experience in FDP execution strategy development or hydrocarbons maturation planning advantageous.
  • Experience in FEED support advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience with major oil & gas reservoirs.
  • Strong background in field development, simulation, and reserves evaluation.
  • Site experience in the middle east and Iraqi southern Oil Fields advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in conventional reservoir simulation (Eclipse, Intersect).
  • Experience in running PetroVR required.
  • Proficiency in production optimization tools (Prosper, GAP, MBAL).
  • Good understanding of reservoir surveillance and modelling capabilities.
