Role overview
GKN Aerospace is seeking a Senior Research Engineer in Process Development at its Luton manufacturing plant.
The role covers research activity in the TRL1–6 range across product and manufacturing process development.
The engineer will lead technical work and manage budgets, schedules, risks, stakeholders, and external work packages.
Core responsibilities
- Deliver allocated project deliverables and work packages against research objectives.
- Lead or support hands-on development testing and trials.
- Design external work packages for third parties.
- Capture test and trial data and issue detailed technical documentation.
- Contribute to Technology Development Plans, Technology Business Cases, funding proposals, and multi-year planning.
- Support stakeholder management and supply-chain partner management.
- Ensure EHS adherence and contribute to a proactive EHS culture.
Essential requirements
- Relevant accredited Engineering or Science degree or relevant industry experience.
- General engineering or technology knowledge and strategic thinking ability.
- Experience managing work-package budgets.
