You will work together with a group of experienced analysts across key APAC markets who combine rigorous long-term modelling, market intelligence, and structured research workflows to support world-class insight generation. The team collaborates closely across geographies and research areas, contributing to both market-specific deep-dives and integrated regional views on power and renewables industry.

Primary markets include Australia, New Zealand and other developed markets.
- Author Wood Mackenzie’s high-profile research deliverables, including market reports, quarterly updates, proprietary datasets, as well as timely ad-hoc insight pieces responding to market events and client demand.

- Collaborate with Wood Mackenzie’s consulting, marketing, and commercial teams to amplify research reach through conferences, media coverage, and joint client engagements.
- Monitor and assess policy, regulatory, and market rule developments in key markets (and selectively across APAC) for their implications on solar and BESS market evolution.

About You
7–10 years of relevant experience in the power and renewables sector, with a strong preference for candidates with direct exposure to Australia and other APAC power markets.
Demonstrated expertise in solar and/or BESS market analysis, including technology costs, project economics, grid integration, policy mechanisms, and competitive dynamics.
Proven track record of producing high-quality, commercially oriented research publications and presenting findings confidently to senior industry and client audiences.
Experience working with long-term power market forecasting models (e.g. Aurora, Plexos, or equivalent) and proficiency in data analysis tools including Excel, SQL, and/or Python would be a plus.
Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to apply both quantitative and qualitative methods to answer complex market questions.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and capable of producing concise, compelling insight pieces and engaging credibly with expert audiences in a client-facing setting.
A natural intellectual curiosity about the energy transition, with the instinct to connect market-level findings to broader technology, policy, and investment trends across the region.
Quantitative degree background (e.g. engineering, economics, finance, or related field) preferred.
