Position Overview
Senior Quantity Surveyor or Lead Quantity Surveyor for highway design and civil engineering consultancy.
The role supports highway and road infrastructure projects through quantity estimation, cost management, tendering, contract administration, and commercial management.
Projects may include national highways, state highways, expressways, bypasses, interchanges, bridges, structures, and associated road infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare highway BOQs and quantity take-offs from alignment drawings, profiles, cross-sections, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Estimate costs, conduct rate analysis, benchmark project costs, and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Prepare tender BOQs and commercial schedules, review contractor bids, evaluate rates, and support negotiations.
- Administer contracts by reviewing payment applications, measurements, quantities, variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Monitor budgets, expenditure, cost reports, cash-flow forecasts, variations, and potential cost overruns.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to assess cost impacts of changes to alignments, pavements, structures, interchanges, and drainage.
- Prepare variation statements and rate justifications and assist with commercial disputes and contractual issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in highway design and civil engineering consultancy.
- Extensive experience with highway and road infrastructure projects.
- Experience with quantity estimation, BOQs, cost estimation, rate analysis, tender documentation, contract administration, cost control, variations, and claims.
