Senior QA Engineer

Location and work setting

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Create test scenarios and cases from requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
• Test frontend applications and backend services across multiple environments.
• Design and maintain automated UI and API tests.
• Perform REST API testing and validate data with SQL.
• Test integrations, asynchronous workflows, browsers, and responsive web applications.
• Track defects, investigate root causes, validate fixes, and perform release regression testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and participate in agile ceremonies and release activities.

Technical requirements

• Experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or an equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, SQL, and database testing.
• Experience testing microservices, service integrations, and automated regression suites.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines, with exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization, preferably OAuth2/OIDC.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience testing React or Next.js frontend applications and Java or Spring Boot backend services.
• Experience with Playwright and TypeScript or Java-based API automation.
• Experience with event-driven systems such as Solace or Kafka.
• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms, Docker, Helm, or Kubernetes.
• Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
• Experience in healthcare, finance, insurance, or another regulated domain.

Education and attributes

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, and attention-to-detail skills are expected.
• The role requires effective cross-functional collaboration and a focus on continuous improvement.

Compensation

• Pay is listed as ₹800,000 to ₹1,200,000 per year.
