Role Overview
The Senior Python Developer will maintain the learning platform, lead an Open edX migration, and drive next-generation AI initiatives.
This is a hands-on technical role owning the migration from planning through execution while supporting platform development and integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy AI solutions, intelligent agents, and LLM-powered features using frameworks such as Gemini and Antigravity.
- Customize and maintain LMS and CMS components and lead the full Open edX migration, including upgrades, data integrity, and zero-downtime deployment.
- Build React frontend components, Django REST APIs, and integrations with LTI, SSO, and payment systems.
- Manage Redis, Celery, Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, troubleshooting, patches, and technical documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
- The role requires 5 to 8 years of Python development experience.
- Strong Django and Django REST Framework knowledge is required, including ORM, class-based views, middleware, and signals.
- Candidates must have Open edX migration and LMS/CMS customization experience.
- The role requires React JS, Open edX MFE, Redis, Celery, Kubernetes, MySQL, MongoDB, NGINX, and Ubuntu/Linux experience.
- Candidates should know SCORM/xAPI, LTI, SSO, OAuth, SAML, Docker, Git, and DevOps practices.
- Production-ready AI agent or product development using LLMs and frameworks such as Gemini and Antigravity is required.
- HTML5 and CSS familiarity is required for frontend work.
Nice to Have
- Open edX Tutor-based Kubernetes deployment experience is advantageous.
- Open edX community contributions, newer-release micro-frontends, and learning analytics or event tracking exposure are advantageous.
