General Job Description
Managing the organization’s media exposure and consistently articulating its vision and mission to potential donors and to the general public.
Responsibilities
Develop and review content for print, electronic and social media to communicate information to members, volunteers, and parents
Create official press kit and build media contact database, thereby raising the society’s visibility within the community
Develop, plan, and implement lectures and other fundraising events
Generate news releases and communicate to media vendors
Prepare and provide talking points to appropriate staff and volunteers for interviews across all media formats
Manage and mentor volunteers and update their training materials
Respond to sensitive issue inquiries as needed
Work with departments to identify ways to use messaging to increase and retain membership
Support marketing and public relations efforts through research and analysis
Assist in the production of a magazine/newsletter
Accept additional duties and responsibilities as directed
Requirements
Bachelors in Communications/Public Relations. 3+ years of accomplished communications experience within a nonprofit entity is a plus
Fluent in Arabic/English
Experienced in writing and distributing press releases and organizing press conferences
Strong media contacts and public speaking skills
Team player with excellent communication skills
