- Define system requirements, performance targets, interfaces, and integration needs with UAV platforms.
- Perform engineering analysis related to thrust, burn characteristics, chamber pressure, thermal behavior, structural integrity, and safety margins.
- Design propulsion-related components such as motor casing, nozzle, insulation, igniter interfaces, retention systems, and mounting hardware.
- Plan and manage prototype builds, including coordination with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
- Define and execute test campaigns, including ground testing, instrumentation setup, test procedures, data
- review, and post-test evaluation.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and design improvement activities following prototype and test results.
- Support industrialization by driving manufacturability, tooling concepts, process definition, inspection planning, and production readiness.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including airframe, structures, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and flight test.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation such as design reports, drawings, BOMs, test plans,
- qualification reports, and production documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Propulsion Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in solid rocket motors, rocket propulsion, missile propulsion, or similar propulsion systems.
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools for propulsion component and assembly design, and CAE tools for
- engineering analysis and validation.
- Proven experience across design, prototyping, testing, and industrialization.
- Strong understanding of combustion, thermodynamics, structural design, thermal management, and propulsion system integration.
- Hands-on experience with prototype hardware development and propulsion testing.
- Experience preparing technical documentation for both development and production stages.
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturing, production transfer, and engineering support to
- manufacturing.
- Ability to work in a dynamic startup environment with a high level of ownership and accountability.
