Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans defining scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk management strategies
- Manage delivery of site characterisations, major permissions, and consents for nuclear power station site
- Actively manage budget and use forecasting techniques to anticipate financial risks
- Develop risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies
- Prepare interactive reports using digital tools (e.g., Power BI) for stakeholders
- Collaborate with commercial team to manage suppliers and contracts
- Communicate with statutory, legal, and local authorities to maintain positive project image
- Work closely with regulatory bodies to secure licenses and approvals
- Implement quality control measures and ensure adherence to nuclear industry standards
- Promote collaborative culture and lead team building activities
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience delivering large scale energy infrastructure projects, preferably in nuclear or highly regulated environments
- Strong experience operating within complex regulatory frameworks, including nuclear safety and licensing
- Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams in safety critical project environments
- Sound knowledge of project governance, risk management, change control, and delivery assurance
- Strong experience in NEC contract administration, including use of CEMAR or equivalent
- Experience managing planning applications and securing statutory consents and permits
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or Project Management
- Professional project management qualification (APM PMQ, PMI PMP, or equivalent)

Job Profile
- Senior Project Manager (SPM) will develop and implement the integrated project delivery model, governance, management arrangements, and delivery plans.
- Manage successful delivery of all project activities within delegated authority for early phases of the SMR Project.
- Main areas of scope: managing delivery of site characterisations, major permissions and consents for nuclear power station site, enabling works and associated development sites.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, defining scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk management strategies.
- Facilitate regular review sessions to ensure project strategies remain aligned with evolving needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation to ensure transparency and compliance with governance requirements.
- Actively manage the budget throughout relevant processes and escalate risks as they arise.
- Utilize forecasting techniques and scenario analysis to anticipate financial risks.
- Ensure changes in scope are communicated promptly and managed through formal change control.
- Develop risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies.
- Prepare interactive reports using digital tools (e.g., Power BI) for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with wider SMR Project team to manage suppliers and contracts.
- Communicate with statutory, legal and local authorities, residents’ associations, and contractors.
- Work closely with regulatory bodies to secure licenses and approvals.
- Implement quality control measures and regular quality audits.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required
- Demonstrable experience delivering large scale energy infrastructure projects, preferably within the nuclear sector.
- Strong experience operating within complex regulatory frameworks, including nuclear safety, licensing, statutory processes.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams in technically complex, safety critical environments.
- Sound knowledge of project governance, risk management, change control, and delivery assurance.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving capability with focus on project risk.
- Highly effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build collaborative, high performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong experience in NEC contract administration, including use of CEMAR.
- Experience of pre project site characterisation.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems.
- Experience managing planning applications and securing statutory consents.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related technical discipline.
- Professional project management qualification (APM PMQ, PMI PMP, or equivalent).
- Chartered Member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE, CIOB, APM, IMechE, IET) strongly preferred.
- NEC Accredited Practitioner with proven experience in client side Senior Project Manager role with NEC contract administration.
