Responsibilities
- Act as principal client contact, ensuring satisfaction and timely communication
- Lead project teams through all stages from design to completion
- Plan, monitor, and manage project progress against time, cost, and quality targets
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including CDM, HMRI, and ORR
- Proactively manage risks and implement corrective actions
- Oversee project documentation and lead risk assessments
- Implement change control procedures and manage variations
- Review project costs, forecasts, and invoicing for financial control
- Manage handover and close out of projects
- Contribute to tendering, fee proposals, resource planning, and risk management
- Lead, support, and develop project management team members
Requirements
- Broad experience delivering complex, multi disciplinary rail projects (e.g., new stations, footbridges, depots, car parks)
- Strong understanding of civil, structural, and permanent way disciplines
- Proven ability to manage people and lead integrated project teams
- Experience working client side or in a co located project environment
- Commercially astute with NEC3 or NEC4 contract administration experience
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline, or HNC/HND with significant experience

The Role
- We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our project development & delivery team.
- You'll lead major infrastructure projects in the rail sector, providing client side project management support from development to completion.
- This role offers autonomy, accountability, and variety in an agile SME environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as principal client contact on all aspects of the project.
- Lead and direct project teams through all stages of the project life cycle.
- Plan, monitor, and manage project progress against agreed time, cost, and quality targets.
- Foster collaboration across multi disciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including CDM Regulations, HMRI and ORR.
- Proactively manage and mitigate risks.
- Oversee project documentation relating to health, safety, environment, and quality.
- Implement robust project change control procedures.
- Regularly review project costs, forecasts, and invoicing.
- Manage smooth handover and close out of projects.
- Contribute to wider business activities such as tendering, fee proposals, resource planning.
- Lead, support, and develop members of the project management team.
Experience Required
- Broad experience delivering complex, multi disciplinary rail projects such as new stations, footbridges, depots, or car parks.
- Strong understanding of civil, structural, and permanent way disciplines.
- Proven ability to manage people and lead integrated, multi organisation project teams.
- Experience working client side or within a co located / seconded project environment.

Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical discipline, or
- Minimum HNC/HND in a construction related field (e.g. Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying) with significant relevant experience.
