Senior Project Engineer - Services Infrastructure (RRJV)

The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV) is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.

The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including:

• Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga)

The proposed capital investment of $2 billion will incorporate a variety of elements including:

• Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
• Construction of new training facilities
• Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
• Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Services Infrastructure to support the delivery of a major Defence infrastructure project at Blamey Barracks Kapooka.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will take ownership of key services infrastructure packages, leading subcontractors, managing technical delivery and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a landmark Defence redevelopment while working within a high-performing Tier 1 project.

What you’ll do

Manage the delivery of critical services infrastructure including HV electrical, potable water, fire water and sewer mains installations.

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and project teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient project execution.

Resolve design, constructability and technical issues in collaboration with designers and key stakeholders.

Oversee quality assurance, inspections, testing, commissioning and handover activities.

Monitor project progress, manage risks and support cost, programme and reporting requirements across allocated work packages.

What you’ll bring

Degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline. 7+ years' experience delivering major infrastructure or construction projects, including projects valued between $10M-$50M.

Demonstrated experience delivering services infrastructure packages including HV electrical, potable water, sewer and fire services.

Strong expertise in subcontractor management, design coordination, quality assurance, testing and commissioning.

Proven ability to develop delivery methodologies, manage technical compliance and resolve complex engineering challenges.

Sound commercial acumen, including project planning, forecasting, risk management, cost control and performance reporting.

implementing and managing SHEQ systems to support safe, compliant and high-quality project delivery.

Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across project teams, clients and subcontractors.

Customer-focused approach with strong knowledge of budgeting, quality systems and project delivery within complex construction environments.

This role is based at Wagga Wagga.
