Senior Project Director (Roads)

Job Description

Strategy and Delivery

• Provide strategic direction for the Ring Road civils and structures sector.
• Translate strategic goals into project scopes, phasing plans, and performance targets.
• Drive improvement, innovation, and value creation in design, construction methodology, and lifecycle performance.
• Oversee planning, concept design, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Technical Integration

• Ensure design and construction activities meet technical standards, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.
• Coordinate roads, bridges, tunnels, retaining structures, drainage, and utility corridors with other development assets.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, planning, procurement, contracts, construction management, quality, and HSE.

Commercial and Programme Management

• Manage consultants, contractors, suppliers, and technical advisors against contractual and technical obligations.
• Own large-scale project budgets, including cost planning, monitoring, and forecasting.
• Oversee programme development and schedule control.
• Lead contract strategy, negotiations, tender evaluations, awards, variations, and claims management.

Regulatory, Quality, and Safety

• Secure approvals, permits, and licenses required for roads, civils, and structures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, international standards, and internal policies.
• Establish quality assurance and quality control processes and conduct reviews, audits, and inspections.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Risk and Stakeholders

• Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation for technical, schedule, commercial, and interface risks.
• Maintain risk registers and contingency plans and escalate critical issues to senior leadership.
• Coordinate with clients, government entities, community representatives, and other stakeholders.
• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on progress, risks, decisions, and strategic implications.

People Leadership

• Mentor, coach, and develop project management and engineering staff.
• Set individual and team objectives, monitor performance, and support professional growth.
• Foster excellence, collaboration, integrity, and safety throughout the civils and structures sector.
